DarkFox1-
I love being supercharged!
The kit I installed was around $2600 at the time of purchase.. they have come down- I have the powerdyne kit but with a 9lb pulley up-grade instead of 6lb. The kit was very easy to install ( about 5hrs ) Powerdyne is the only company I can think of that makes a direct bolt on kit labled explorer ( except a roots style like eaton ) Powerdyne is also used on the Saleen Explorers. If I was to do it again and now that I have my mustang and see how the explorer V-8 and the stang are I would have gone with a paxton kit for a mustang and just made some mods to it. I just personally like paxton best
But the powerdyne is a nice easy to install street blower!! mustang guys will tell ya the powerdyne is a no-no but they are looking at it from a drag strip point of view. the powerdyne is a great street blower though- I have been running it for 2 yrs with not a singe problem and love it.
I also have a cam, headers, full exhaust, roller rockers, fuel system and more- and it will surprise many cars out there.
but you would be amazed at what 6lbs would do to a stock explorer compared to stock...
no mods to the hood.... if you look at my motor and are not really looking for a supercharger- you would not even know it was there- fits like a glove and looks almost stock
you can purchase through
http://www.explorerexpress.com or I bought direct from the factory.
Nice thing about this over the eaton roots is- its up-gradable to more boost in the future unlike the eaton. I believe the eaton is only 6lbs- correct me if im wrong
good luck
its a blast to drive
