I'm used to our V8 Mountaineers having that initial slight sticky accelerator on starting out for the first trip of the day, but the '98 is now starting to have issues under way.

Don't know if it's the cable or something in the plenum, but seems to be intermittently un-responsive at speed now.

Wondering if you guys are familiar with this problem.

Thanx.

Mark

There is black plastic cover over the throttle & cruise cable. Remove it and check for dirt build up on the throttle cable. Hose the hell out of it with some carb cleaner & I bet you won't have the sticky/hard pedal when taking off from a stop.

I did this to mine this summer because I was having the problem you are having. No more sticky throttle cable:thumbsup:
