Well everyone I got the whole 5.5" lift in and I will get something written up, and some pictures of things to look out for. On another note I have a pretty big vibration that I have not had a chance to track that down yet. So if anyone has done this before please let me know if you had the vibration problem and how you fixed it.

Thanks!

Couple more questions for you. I just received my kit and I was going over the instructions and noticed a couple of things. How is the emergency brake cable really lengthened, if at all, and if you also instaled the superrunner steering replacement, how did you reroute the two automatic transmission lines to clear the idler arm bracket? Getting started friday and would like to know before I get to far into it. Thanks

Also, How did you remove the shock ears from the stock u-bolt mounting plates?

Well I am still waiting for word back on the shop that I bought my lift from on the parking break extender, as soon as I hear
something I will let you know. I did not install the superrunner steering so I would not know the answer to that. I have a manual transmision so I don't know about the auto. The stock ears I just cut off with a large grinder thingy Dead Link Removed Like the one on the zimmerman page here.

Ryan,

What is a parking brake extender? My Superlift 5 1/2 did not have any such monster. I used a Ranger drivers side parking brake cable. I believe it was for a '92, can't remember. It worked great. Don't need it anymore though. Too bad you are so far away or I would give it to you. Also check the u-bolts on your rearend, they may have slacked off a bit, if they are loose you will get a vibration.

The parking break extender they sent me is a little metal thing with little slots on the ends for the cable to go in. There is just one problem with it, it is the same length as the original parking break deal so it won't work! But using one from a Ranger sounds like a good idea.

Well after I wrote this my dad asked me if I had marked my driveshaft before removing it. After being told after all was said and done that driveshafts should go back on the same way that they were when you take them off, I am going to try to turn it 180 degrees tonight and see if that will fix the problem. Yes I did get an alignment. So I knwo that is not the problem

Okay, one more question, maybe two. The instructions say to rotate the stock u-bolt bounting brackets 180 degrees and to cut off the old shock mount ears. they say this is to keep them from interfeering with the brake backing plates, but the only way I can get them to face forward and OUTBOARD as the directions say is to swap them from left side to right side. Do I really need to cutt off the stock shock mount ears or are they fine where there at? Also, How did you disconnect the parking break to roll the axle out?

Well the stock ears for the shocks should point out towards the front of the vehicle, but you should just cut them off to get them out of the way. For the parking break all I did was take it out of as many places that I could so that it could get pulled out.
