I was going 55mph at 1500 rpm.. not sure what gear I was in but is that normal or is something wrong?

Would a new maf or iac valve help that any?

Normal. At torque converter lock, RPM is dictated by the speed of the vehicle (increase one and the other increases).

Thank you for the quick reply i thought the tranny might have been slipping cuz it doesnt seem to want to go above 2500 rpms and then it shifts even when i press the gas it may go up to 2500 rpm and then shift usually shifts at 2000 rpm

That just sounds like a performance issue (you want more than what the vehicle can currently provide) - start with a basic tune up (fluids, filters, etc..).

I was planning on changing the fuel filter soon.
PLugs, plug wires and air filter are brand new just replaced less then a month ago.

I used to drive a 89 mustang 5.0 for a daily driver before i got this car to drive daily so it's a huge change hahah

Sounds normal, I'm at 1500 at around 50 (4.0 sohc, 5r55e).

Just seemed odd to me, i m not used to automatic cars so it's kinda weird for me hahaha thank you for your help and input!
