well i got it rebuilt about 8 months ago. got a discount because my brother works for the chevy dealership that did the rebuild. i couldnt get thewarranty because i got it at an awesome price ... 800 for a full rebuild.

well when the tranny is warm it shifts flawlessly but when i start it up the tranny slips in first and second most of the time until it heats up. its not throwing any codes which makes me think it might be something simple. ive checked the fluid and it is at the DO NOT ADD MORE mark. is there a simple solution or am i doomed for more expensive work?

any opinions or expieriences are greatly appreciated
thanks
pete

im not sure. is it safe to add it anyway even if they did use merc v. I was thinking about adding some of that lucas tranny stuff... would you recomend that?

You could add the Lubegard anyway. It is OEM approved. It only adds friction modifiers. Lucas swells seals, so there is a difference of opinion on it. I've used it for many years without any negative affects.

thanks for your help. i will add the lubegard and see if that will fix it
