5r55e transmission question?

I am doing a search for a transmission for my 98 Explorer. From what I have seen the only difference between the 4x4 and 4x2 trans is the tail housing. Which looks to be interchangeable? Is this correct?

Also: Are both the SOHC and OHC bell housing the same?

Extension housings are interchangeable but output shafts are different lengths and design. Which requires transmission to be disassembled to change shafts. Bell housing is the same.

I found a trans at a decent price, will a trans from a 99 Sport trac with a 4.0 SOHC fit my 98 Explorer XLT 4.0 OHC?
