i opened up the tranny about 5 times and i dont see anything. all clutch and plates well everything looks good. maybe the pump is no good and its not making the one-way drum work??? truck feels like it wants to move but it has no power to move.
swetrid you are right my one-way was junk. it would not go one-way it would go both ways. thanks ... oh a few ?s for you
1. how many one-ways is there in the 5r55w tranny?
2. why cuz i did not have the one-way working why i did not have any forward gears?
3. cuz the one-way was not working and i was trying to move the truck on its on power did i ruin anything else in the tranny or the tc?????
I believe there are 2 one-way clutches. You probably didnt hurt anything else. If the one way doesnt hold, it will allow forward gears due to design of transmission. One way clutch usually goes bad if you are a person who doesnt stop between forward and reverse gear changes.
Not experienced with transmission repair however budget says I need to look into it. I have the DLC P1700. Transmission will catch both R & F however sluggish then to nothing. Does this sound like the one way clutch?
