-6mm offset on 16x8?

I'm going to buying wheels sometime within the next few days, and I settled on a set I like. I just wanted to make sure that the offset I'm looking at is ok. I have a '97 Sport, and I want the wheels to set out further as it is cause of the flares, but my concern is if I'll have any rubbing issues with a 16x8 rim, with -6mm offset, with my stock 255/70/16's? How about 31's, I plan to go to those on my next set of tires.

6mm is approx .240 inches, so I doubt there would be much of a difference.
