6X9 and 6X5 ???????

Well here i go again,,,,,, Ok i reciently got a pair of 6X9's and a pair of 6X5 Alpine 150WATT speakers these are top of the line and i got a great deal, so even know i know explorers take 5X7 i had to get them well my question is is there any way at all to put these in the doors i have herd some methods of driling holes to match them and also using ply wood around them ,, and ideas would be a big help i want to put them in ,, thanks

I just put some replacements in the front of my '95 (5.5" circular) and from the looks of it, if you take the mounting piece (the thing that holds the speaker itself) off of the door, the opening that is left looks big enough to fit a 6x9. Give it a try. Taking the door panels off isn't a problem at all just carefully pop the plastic "rivets" out of the door (some may stay in the door and pull out of the panel) and lift up and out. The power window/lock switches slide out of the panel, and you can just lay the panel in the back of your truck for as long as you're working on the speakers!! Good luck.
