700R4 Conversion, now no 4x4

Is it possible to wire the motor directly by bypassing the module? What exactly does it control? If it is simply controlling whether or not to shift based on whether or not I'm in neutral or going slow enough to engage 4x4, I can determine that on my own. Does it do more than that?

I have yet to be able to find it, but there is (I think) a thread on here somewhere of someone who converted their normal e-shift xfer case into a toggle switch shift.

I "think" they bypassed the shift computer, but I'm not 100% sure as I can't find the thread..

Progress

Ok, I pulled out the shift motor and opened it up. I did have a bad bushing. So, I replaced that and put it all back together. The transfer case seems to be working fine for 4x4H but I have no low range. The light blinks as if I wasn't in neutral. I know the transmission was hooked to a neutral switch somehow because it doesn't start if not in neutral or park. Is there a different wire that the transfer case uses for a neutral switch? If so, did I mess it up with the transmission swap or the transfer case shift motor rebuild?

When I left for work this morning it was dark outside so the lights were easier to see. I could now see that the low range light was on. 4x4 light wasn't on and no lights on the gauge panel. Just the low range light next to the button. The car wasn't in 4x4 or low range. What is going on?
