Hello Ford family just a quick post to break the ice. I have just over 75,000 miles on my XLT and heard a squeak a couple of weeks ago (how we take the simple things for granted when we buy new, not no more) so maybe I should consider changing the brakes. I'm going to research the many forums, but since these took me 75,000 lets do it again. I want the same STUFF whatever ford used that what I want. My mission find out exactly what brake parts ford used any help would be the cherry on top. Thanks and have a great day :us:

If it was factory installed it was motorcraft. That is the ford brand. You can probably buy it at a local auto parts store, some of them carry it. Or check online at rockauto. They have good prices. There is also a forum discount code for rockauto(use the search function on the forum to find the code). If those fail the dealer would be my last choice (most likely the highest prices)

Thanks for the welcome guys and thanks for the info sport97

Your truck was assembled with OE Ford pads and rotors NOT Motorcraft, you can ONLY get them at your Ford dealer. Motorcraft is a value line offered at Ford dealers and in parts stores, and in my opinion average at best.

Interesting. Sorry for posting the wrong info. I figured since Motorcraft was ford, that was what they used.

Welcome to this forum! There are other manufacturers which produce heavy duty or even severe duty parts such as Wagner & Performance Friction. The Ford pads are semi-metallic. You could buy carbon metallic which is a little stronger. They are used on police vehicles, taxi cabs, tow trucks, etc.

You'll have to go to the dealer and get the "brown box" Ford part, which is the assembly line born part... They're usually about double the $$ on brake pads. Buddy spent $105 for a Lincoln Mk VIII, Motorcrafts were about $50 I think...
