I went to the junk yaar to see if i could get a DPFE sensor for cheap they wanted $30 used autozone wanted $40 with a 2 year warranty Ford wanted $105 . So i would be out $40 b/c i go with the autozone one and i thought why not see if i can fix it and if it don't work i wouldn't be out much. Went to hard wear store and this is what i got so far.
Thing you need.
1/8" X 2" galvanized nipple (haha i said nipple
)-$.79
dremel or grinder - i have one
quick steel or J/B weld-also had
Unhook the negative cable on the batter and take DPFE off.
first a look of the B/4
STEP 1
use a knife to cut off all the melted plastic and to make the hole a lil bigger
STEP 2
use a dremel or grinder to grind down both end till you can slide it in the hole.
STEP 3
stick the nipple (haha nipple) in the hole on the DPFE sensor to make sure it will fit.
STEP 4
Take the quick steal or j/b weld and put a lil on the bottom of the sensor then stick the nipple in the sensor and use more quick steel or j/b weld to make sure it will hold. Now just hook it back up and put the battery cable back on.
If tou want to you can get a file and make it look better and paint it to give it a better look.
Thear you have it how i fixed mine the cel is gone and i drove it for about 20 mints and still looks good will report up on this to see how long it last. If it last for a week or two ill be happy b/c that when i get my next check.
