Hey guys
I am going to be installing the 3" bl 853 to my 97 xlt soon.
everyone here mentions how you will need to make new bumper brackets for this lift. Well when I was browsing around getting prices on the lift I noticed that the kit comes with the bumper brackets.

http://www.jackit.com/bodylifts/bl_ford.htm

Is it that these brackets only fit the ranger or are they a new add on to the kit
thanks in advance

Yes kinda when i installed the B/L on my 99 i was able to use the front brackets supplied with the kit to get the front bumper on but had to fab (sorta:p:) the rear brackets for the rear bumper hope this helps

When you say you "sorta" had to mod the back brackets did this involve any welding or bending or just drilling holes. I dont weld so I am hoping its the ladder of the three.
thanks for your input

yeah it just involves redrilling the backets that come in the kit. The sorta part was becuase i got lucky when i did mine and was able to find/buy brackets already modified

The 853 kit has a different bumper bracket and a different steering extension than the one in the 883 kit. If you have a 95-97, you need the 853 kit plus bumper brackets. The diagrams for them are on the site.

hey guys i also just bought that kit and was woundering what was the deal with the bolt i remember reading u dont use all the bolts in the kit ,2 are to long and for those u have to use existing bolts ??? is this true ?
withch bolts are they?

also i read droping the rad is a pain because of the a/c line near it? is this true ?? how did ppl overcome this problem if just bending the line wont work??

and do i really need to unhook the shifter cable and breaklines or can i just jack half the body up looking for wire or hoses that seem to be gettin tight as i jack? ive heard a couple ppl say they just jacked and didnt worry bout it and others say ,it cant be done unless u unhook that stuff??

thanks for any help?
