89 Honda Prelude turn signals not working???

Auto, fwd, lots of miles.

The passenger side front and back turn signals quit working, no blinking at all. Also the turn signal arrow in the dash does not blink or even light up. You do here the clicking but it is very fast.

Everything about the drivers side front and back turn signals works just fine.

I replaced both bulbs and they still do not work. I also tried the new bulbs in the drivers side and the bulbs work so I know its not the bulbs.

I replaced the fuse, but it was for all four turn signals so I was sure that was not it.

I dont think its the flasher but I dont really no anything about flashers. I pulled the turn signal flasher to the left of the break pedal out of the compartment there and none of the turn signals worked, so the flasher I guess is for all four turn signals and I do not think that is the problem?

The passenger rear turn signal bulb holder is somewhat corroded, along with the old bulb that came out of it. I cleaned/scraped it up as best I could. I have wiggled all the wires around there to no avail, no wires look broken to me.

I did find it odd that the wires were somewhat gooey from the electrical tape wrapped around them, nothing looked like it had melted though.

I have messed with this quite a bit and I really no nothing about electrical stuff and there is nothing in my Hanes Manuel about this. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hazards do not work on the passenger side front/back, but do work on the driver side front/back. Brake lights on both side work.

Get a test light, and check each socket. You might have corrosion in the sockets or on a nearby ground wire.

Ok I tested both bad sockets and there is no power, I also tested the drivers side to make sure i knew what i was doing and it does have power so my tester works. I am not sure how to test grounds (ground wires?)? Like I said I really no nothing about electrical stuff.

However after further investigation I do have 1 brake light out on the rear drivers side (there are 2 bulbs per brake light, its a long skinny lens, so 4 bulbs total for the brake lights). Also 1 marker light out on the drivers side front (same thing 2 marker bulbs per side). I will replace those bulbs tomorrow and see if that changes anything. Is there any chance the turn signals for the passenger side would somehow be intertwined with the marker/brake lights that dont work on the drivers side?

Maybe you could explain a little bit to me about how to test the "grounds". I will replace the burntout bulbs tomorrow, and if that doesnt work I can snap a picture of the rear passenger side wiring/bulbs and maybe you could point me in the right direction.

There should be a black wire or a metallic ground strap going from the harness to the body. Sometimes corrosion could build up around the crimped end where the bolt is connected to the body. Some vehicles have a bulkhead connector going to the main rear harness. Sometimes the connection on the bulkhead could be where the fault lies.

Im still stumped, I couldnt find any ground strap/bolt or anything going to the body? Also not sure what the "bulkhead" is or could be? I took some pictures, maybe that would help?

I did replace all four brake lights and all are now working. I replaced one of the front driver side marker/park lights, and a rear passenger side marker/park lights, both are working now. I did find out 1 interesting thing, not sure if it makes a difference or not. The front drivers side marker/park light that I replaced must be a two elements or something, when the headlights are on the marker light stays on, but also flashes when the driver side turn signal is on. However the passenger side marker light is working and stays lit when the headlights are on, but does not flash when I turn the passenger side turn signals on it just stays lit. So basically everything on the passenger side that has to do with the turn signals is not working.

The ground wire from the rear passenger side turn signal socket, is bridged with the ground wires from 2 break lights and 1 marker light. So all 4 of the grounds coming from the light sockets are bridged together, then 2 grounds come off of that and into the harness. Does that have to mean that if the ground was bad it would have to be from the bridge to socket, and could not be after the bridge to the harness? The ground wire in the socket does look quite corroded but I have no idea how to get it out (without just yanking it out of course) of the socket or get it back in properly.
