89 towncar dome lights wont turn off

right so tonight we had a short out at the dome lights and it blew the fuse. then after i replaced the fuse and fixed the short now the lights wont turn off when i close the doors. checked all switches and nothing. any one know how to replace the door jamb switches or is it a new wiring issue? how do i probe this?

When you checked the switch, did you see if the dome light was still on even with the switch removed from the circuit?

i have not been able to remove the switch. i just pushed in the knob with a screw driver and nothing happend. i checked all doors individually

You should remove the switch to check the circuit.

i dont know how to remove the switch. ill post pictures. im guesing its just treaded into the door. so maybe with some pliers?
