Well i have been reading and re-reading all the posts about the SAS and I would love to do this!!

I just got off the phone with my cousin and he still has his '90 grand wagoneer that he is getting rid of cheap!!!

Does anyone know if the dana 44 out of it will work? is it to wide or just right??

also i beleive it has a NP229 T-case?? anyone know? does AA make an adapter to mate this t-case to my V-8 tranny????

any input would be great!

PurPony, my book says that 1984 was the last year for the NP229 transfer case. The listings for 1990 is either a NP231 (part-time), or NP242 (full-time). An ID plate will be attached to the back of the case to verify the type. I'm guessing it's a NP242.

Sorry I can't help with the other questions.

I wouldnt use a D44 from a waggy. theyre a little to wide and you cant more the spring perch on the driveside in at all since its already right next to the diff.
