91 4x4 Transformation

Hi Guys, new to this forum, looking for some info and best way to go on transforming my 91 explorer for my son. I have a 91 that i have had several tranny problems with and 1 engine swap, the tranny has been rebuilt 3 times over the 5 years that i have had it. I would like to pull this engine and transmissin out of this body and put something else in its place with alot more horsepower, i wanna do this for my son who will be sixteen soon, i want to really fix this thing up for him. any suggestions out there?

welcome to the site... check out the modified explorations forum and do a search for something along the lines of a v8 swap... you might want to do some reading, but there are kits available for rangers for a engine/tranny swap and they might be adaptable to an explorer
