I got my Accord up for sell, and have already gotten tons of calls on it. I am asking $3k for it, and am looking to turn around and spend that much or a tad bit more on another vehicle. How is the reliability on these years? Are they gas hogs? I plan on purchasing a 4x4 and undecided if I will lift it (not sure if I will sell it in a year). Would it be worth it, or would it end up costing me more than its worth? Should I look elsewhere? Let me know please.

Thanks,
Travis

I think for around 3-4 grand you can get a pretty clean explorer, remember most are used as family wagons, and have not been off road much. I have a 93 with 180,000 miles on the original running gear, I have done some work, mostly in the front bushings. One weak point to watch for is in the transmisson, from what I have read here the auto's are undersized, I haven't had any problems with mine though, I haven't read about many problems with the 5 speed. With the mileage I have now, I wouldn't think twice about taking it on a road trip, it has never let me down. Just my thoughts

With honest, regular maintenance these can go way over 150,000 miles. I'm at 200K with only one major repair- my head gasket blew from a stupid radiator flush chemical. NEVER USE THEM w/o really flushing them out when done. So that's that. I'll keep her til she stops running, a real work horse.

I like em

thank you guys for the replies. I need it to last me another year or so before I buy something newer (prolly an explorer)

You will definitely enjoy it, wether your into street or off road, it's a lot of fun. BEWARE it's addicting.
