i've considered there alternators but however i have heard that they don't just bolt up that the pulley is just a bit smaller and spaced behind the alternator had to be added, or a smaller belt

thats whats kept me from them...
also i can get a 130amp alternator locally for just about 160, if i can get them to take a 95 amp for a core charge then it'll be 150... two plus things for doing it that way too....keep local businesses in business, and i have it that day.

thanks
ryan

what is stock for the '93, 95amps?

duke
yea on the 93 stock is 95 amps with an option of a 130 amp one.

on your engine does your alternator have the bolts that are inserted parallel to the front...say you would have to be on the passenger side of the truck looking at the alternator to see the tops of the bolts?

thanks
ryan

I can see why that would be feasible, I still have my stock alternator sitting in the garage......

how does your alternator mount to the engine?

is it in the way that to see the heads of the bolts you would have to stand on the side of the truck on the passenger side and look at the alternator then?
check out my website theres pictures of my engine there will u see if your alternator mounts the same way...heres my site address

thanks!!

Mine mounts the exact same way. I have a few pics if you would like to see, but I think that they are all the same mount points.

a smaller pulley is better, it will spin faster... the belt tensioner should take out any slack

Which do you have????

EliteConcept,

I'm guessing that the mounting is a clue as to which unit is which. Which do you have, 95 or 130?

The only problem with the smaller pulley on mine is that my engine now has a ticking sound when running. It only happened after I put that alternator on, but it does not seem to be causing any problems other than that tick. There is another member here that has the same condition, and I had a post on it but it did not answer anything.

yea mounting is the main thing because the 130 amp alternators are only listed as an option for 93 and 94's...i was just checking to see if they mounted the same...if so i'm probably cool.

limted ex thanks, i'll take your word for it...

the only thing about the smaller pulley is that the one from mr.alternator i heard requires a spacer and new bolts.....and i'm not really up for that mess...

hopefully 130 can power my system and basic needs.

thanks
ryan
