91 - 94 HID Conversion

I was wondering if anybody has done this, i found a conversion on http://www.eautoworks.com for cars using the 9004 bulb type. Would the stock headlights allow for this? I'm not thinken' so, but thats why i asked.

We did the HID conversion on my 93 explorer 3 weeks ago, and I am really happy with the results. The adapters that come with the 9004 kit did not work so we took the stock adapters that hold the origanal bulb, ground them down and it fit perfect. The only down fall is there is a small yellow beam
that comes out on both headlight at the bottom but the rest is crisp bright white. Very Bright. It took under an hour to do, After we figured it all out!

Just how much of a difference are the HIDs?
Do they really light up the road much better?
Do you mind not having high beams anymore?
Do they really look like the ones in BMWs etc.?
Are they aimed ok? Like, you can actually see the road, and not the sky with them?
And what are the chances of getting arrested with them? (i.e. are they extraneously bright?) THANKS DUDE!!!

They are much better than the stock lights. They are very white and the light span is unbeliaveable.It is a little ****ty not having high beam but were going to add a second bulb in the housing and that will take care of that! As for the cop thing you wont get arrested, max....a ticket or inspection..but its worth it. The only thing is they dont look like the bmw..lexus because the light is not being sent through a projecter. still deadly though!!!!

I roughy paid $850 Canadian.

$850 canadian=$566 american. go to http//www.groupbuycenter.com/ cause ive seen the kits available on there for anywhere from $520 to $580. as far as projector style headlights(like those on BMW and lexus) i have seen kits available for them on 93up rangers but have not had any luck finding them for the 91-94 explorer(88-92 rangers). im sure that if enough of us want to get them and are willing to pay, we might be able to get a company to manufacture them. although i do remember seeing mercedes with the same style of lenses as the explorers and running HID's from the factory.

Where did you pay that in Canadian? I can't find them for any less than $700 even on the group buy place. Please help because I really want to get them!

I got them from staub electronics, but I just found out that Ford you can buy them from for for way way less, I won't know for sure until I check it out But I was told the bulbs were $60 and the transformers were way cheaper too.

what do you mean cheaper? like if you buy it piece by piece its alot cheaper? where can you get the pieces, if i can save any kind of money than im all ears. tell us where/how you can get the individual pieces
