I have only 10,000 miles on a dealer rebuilt trans. It shift fine when it is cool, but after it starts getting hot, 30 miles or so
(it depends on the outside Temp.) it stars
shifting into high gear at way to low of a speed and not downshifting at the proper time. After it sits for a short time, it's fine again....Anyone have ANY idea's ?

If this is still under warranty, I'd give the dealer a call (I know... you probably already thought of that). If it's not under warranty, try checking the ATF level and see if the fluid still has a red color to it. If it has become brown or black, chances are your fluid is running way too hot. I'd suggest changing the fluid and filter (even if that's not the problem, it couldn't hurt anyway), and look into transmission coolers. I think the auto in my '91 is about to go out and the moment I have it rebuilt, I'm getting a cooler for it (supposedly the extend the life dramatically). I'm not a transmission genius by any means, but there are all sorts of actuaters and vacuum lines in those auto trans' that I've heard cause shifting problems too. I know this is a bit of a primitive reply, but maybe it will help anyway. Good luck.
