Has anyone heard of this or tried to install it?

The center console in ours is just a mess. The padded lid is ripped really bad and a lot of the foam in it is gone. Instead of just replacing the pad I was hoping I could find an entire center console that has better storage that I could put in place of what's there now. Since this has four cup holders and looks to be a better fit for what we keep in the vehicle I thought it would be good. But it says it fits 91 - 08 models.............. I didn't think all those years were interchangeable so I'm wondering if it's worth trying it.

Where can you get a factory one? Nashville is a couple hours away and Clarksville is even further. If I can order a new one that would be great. The junk yard here wanted $50 just for a used center armrest pad for the console and it's not even in perfect shape.

Dadgum $50 just for the padded part?!

I can prob get the whole console in either location for that if not less.

I'm sorry the middle TN part made me think near Nashville. If you're closer to Knoxville as of yesterday there were 12 1991-94 explorers at the pull-a-part junkyard. I have no idea of the condition of the consoles but just a thought for ya.

We're in the southern part of central TN, down closer to Chattanooga outside McMinnville. About two and a half hours from Knoxville. I do love living in the middle of nowhere (town has less than 200 people and the county about 3000) but it means I've got a drive ahead of me if I want to get any place. Will probably be easier for me to just buy something new. Was hoping someone had bought and installed the one I'd included the link for. It's the entire center console and it's a different design than what's there now, which is what left me concerned that maybe it wouldn't be a good fit. I think it said it's for a 91-97 and I thought the 93 is only interchangable with 91-94? I'm sure I'll find something for it eventually.

could always install a second gen console...

Oh geez, I'd never be able to figure out how. I'm about as good with things like that as I am with brain surgery. LOL I'll have to see if the mechanic would know how. I bet he would. Maybe that would work.............

Thanks for the thought!

Ahh I see. I have a couple family members in Beechgrove.

All 91-94 works within itself. I have a 91 EB console in mine right now. But then again I gutted a 91 EB explorer and have the whole interior in my truck. My console was in surprisingly decent shape for 20 yrs old. Are you needing the cloth tan or leather console? The 91 I pulled from was cloth.
