I have a 91 EB with approx. 192000 miles on it. My family is the original owner of this beast. The majority of the miles were added by my mom to and from work. The engine runs strong, the transmission could use a little work, and there is NO rust. I was just wondering, Where would you all recommend I start?? SAS? Beef up the engine? Lift kits? Tires? Body lift? Any comments are welcome and encouraged.

What do you want out of it? What do you plan on using it for? We need more details.

Yeah, come over to my house, and you can look at mine. That will give you a lot of ideas, and I will tell you what I like and don't like, and you can start from there.

How does that sound.

Tucson does not have many lifted exploders, -=Daemon=- is at school in New Mexico right now, so I haven't seen him in a while.

If you want to come over sometime, or meet somewhere, just pm me and I'll give you my phone number.

WOW!!! I love your explorer. And yes, I would like to meet up with you. Perhaps do some wheelin. Soo, would you suggest just going big to begin with(lift kit)?? And DAMN you got that lift on in 40 hrs by yourself??? and just with handtools?? nicely done man. I live on the North East side, so Redington Pass is not too far. My friends and I go up to Cheeva Falls all the time, They have this one mean ass section, im sure you've been on it, if not, heard about it. Supprisingly enough i made it down/up with my stock xplorer. Im planning on doing it again in the near future, after it rains so all the washs are running and stuff.

Yeah, go here: http://www.explorerforum.com/data/s...rpage=12&password=0&ppuser=6427&what=&name=&=
And there are a few pictures of me on some wicked spots out at reddington.

Also, look under -=Daemon=-. He has a bunch of pics from out there too.

Yeah, about lifting, If I were to do it again, I would have gone solid axle swap (SAS) right away. It would have cost me the same in the long run, and probably made me a lot happier. Talk to anyone who has had an "Out of the box" lift and gone solid after, and they will more than likely tell you the same thing.

Hope that helps ya.

A spring over axle (SOA) in the rear will give you plenty of lift. Very cheap to do yourself too.

for the SOA, do i have to add a leaf? or can i just use the stock ones??

You can add a leaf for some more hight, but you do not need to. You can just get some spring perches from jegs or summit or somewhere like that and have them welded to the top of the axle.
Superlift lift kits come with this. It is a little extra, but I think it is cheaper if you do it your self.
Later,

Andy
