I thought I had this problem cured, but it has happened again. I have a brand new premium battery, new OEM battery cables, and the alternator has been checked. If driven daily, there are no problems, but if the vehicle is parked for at least a week, the battery is completely drained. I have checked the forum before and gotten some good tips. I remember something about the shift motor causing a battery drain, which may be a place to start. I had the transmission replaced with one from a salvage yard and our mechanic asked that we use the shift motor that came on the used transmission for a cleaner swap. We had never had an electrical problem prior to the swap.
What's the simplest way to check the relay and shift motor for a "draw?" I very much appreciate this forum and any help I can get. Thanks!

using an amp meter, pull each fuse one by one and check to see if there is any current flowing through it with everything shut down including the dome light or under hood light.

happy xmas................t

Disconnect one of the battery cables. Then run a test light (or ohm meter) between the disconnected cable and the disconnected terminal. If you have volts going thru, then you have a drain. Make sure the hood light is removed before you do this. Then, as previously suggested, start pulling fues/relays to see when the drain disappears. At that point, you will know what circuit is causing the problem.
