can any member help me to remove the small gear that is located behind the lock cylinder?
and also the actuator lever it moves.

I have torn the whole column out and pretty much all to pieces but still cant get these 2 parts out.

behind the lock cylinder it shows the gear, a bearing and a (plastic) retainer.
I cant take a chance to damage these parts, they are all obsolete.

the actuator lever must come out straight up the column towards the driver but a spring is pushing against it.

about half the time the whole mechanism locks up and wont move.
it must be junked out inside

this is my 3rd day and I cant figure out how to get these parts out.

Have you tried a boneyard for a used column? That may be your best bet. I don't remember reading about anyone trying to fix the wheel lock on the forum, but maybe someone has:dunno:

I havent tried for a used column due to the cost

I found a NOS lock actuator lever at the local dealer for under $20
the gear is not available and the last price was $62 wow

locally there are no good options for reasonably priced salvage parts
I might have to go out of town if I need the small gear

it just seems excessive to replace it all for 2 small parts, 1 of
which I have new.

even if the column is basically just hanging loose.
thank you for the suggestion

a colum with key ?

you mean that you cant pull the tumbler ? without a colum swap what about after pulling the steering wheel ?
