Hi Guys,
I have a 91 Explorer, 4x4 XLT, v6. It has started to overheat (I won't let it get past the "m" in the word normal on the temp gauge). It usually runs between the "n" and "o," however, I noticed that if I am in traffic, or leave it at idle, it starts running hot. It does not happen in park, and if I rev the engine, it cools down. It also runs hot when going up hill.
I replaced the thermostat and water pump, as well as flushed the cooling system, and it's still doing it. Fluids all look good. Someone told me that it was probably the transmission cooler had failed, but I wanted to get some more input before I picked one up.
