I know that this has nothing to do with an explorer but I have to Give props to Ford on the '91 F150 with the 4.9 inline 6.We use it as our shop truck and do alot of towing with it.It has almost 350,000 miles on the original engine and it still keeps on going.Recently,I was about 50 miles from home and the thermostat stuck.The gauge wasnt reading correctly so I didnt know it was getting hot until everything started knocking.I quickly turned it off and let it cool enough to where I could jerk out the thermostat and drive home.After the abuse that that engine goes through,it fired right back up and got me home with no problems.That truck is a beast.Anyway,I just had to post about how impressed I am with the straight 6 engine in that thing.
