91 Ford Explorer. I need help asap.

i believe your 4x4 hubs are sloppy, and are automatically engaging on one side. this leads to the clunk sound while driving.

what you are describing is the problem i had. I made the switch to warn manual hubs, haven`t had any weird noises since.

although, that was a 250$ conversion. If you can, find an auto wrecker where you can get an auto hub of the passengers side of an explorer, and put it on your truck. If the noise goes away, then it`s fixed.

Maybe the backing plate shield is bent and touching the rotor? I seen it happen one time. Jack it up and spin it by hand and see if you could pinpoint where the noises coming from.

i guess the bearings are bad. thanx everyone for all your help.

guessing you took it back to the shop? glad you figured it out. bearing replacement is intimidating the first time, but it's easy to do with practice. Unless of course you take it to a shop. DIY repair is not everyone's cup-o-tea.

I really sounds like a loose Hub Nut or there is an issue with the recently replaced brakes

I have had a caliper seize up and burn up pads with 70% life left on them in about 20 minutes on the highway. Then when I came to a stop, it was pullin to the right and making a grinding noise. Check the brake pads as well.
