Hello.................Have a 91 Sport...2WD...4.0 Auto.
Has been a good truck so far.
Have a few problems that need attention.....maybe some other owners have come across.
FIRST.....Ignition Cylinder has gone fubar. Key is stuck in cylinder in RUN position. Will not turn back to Stop or Acces. Had to pull Fuel pump fuse to shut engine down and disconnect battery. Previous owner had replaced the switch twice before...yet could not remember how he did it. :thumbdwn:
SECOND.....Have a fuel leak @ the tank topside. Have not pulled tank down yet...Is there a problem with the plastic lines on this model? Interference points?
Have a major exhaust leak @ the LF cylinder head...looks to be burned through the head..this common with the 4.0's?
As for the Ign. Cylinder..I purchased a new one from Advance Auto just don't know where the hold lock is...don't want to jack the column up trying to get it out.
Any and all help--advice would be much appreciated....have yet to purchase a GOOD repair manual for the beast. Working on that. :D
THanks................Chuck...................

Welcome to this forum! You might want to search various threads for information or post separate questions for each issue if they are unrelated to one another. Plastic lines could easily crack, so you might have to replace the areas where the leaks are coming from. Disconnect the battery, and wait at lease 10 minutes before you work on a steering column equipped with an air bag.

If the fuel leak is on the topside of the tank, it's probably one of the metal lines coming off the fuel pump. Pretty common on Gen Is. You will need to drop the tank and replace the FP assembly. You will need the fuel disconnect tool to get the lines off. Be careful with the lines as you can't buy them from a dealer or aftermarket.
