I just received my 2001 power/heated X seats and they bolt right up, but the seat belt connector comes just short by about 1-2 inches. Also, the connectors are different so I'm going to have to do some re-wiring. Am I doing this wrong or is there something I'm missing? Has anyone tried this 92 to 01 swap, I did read up on past threads about this but I couldn't find this exact problem.
Thanks!
Greg

Thanks to all the advice, I just figured it out.:p

sorry this doesn't answer your question but how much do 01 seats cost and where did you get them, i have a 93 and am interested in this conversion

I actually got the seats from EBay for about $350, they are excellent seats! You could very easily do the conversion as your in the 92-01 range! The only problem I had was in the wiring, all of the plugs were different and I had to go get a wiring diagram to make sure I didn't accidentally set off the seat airbags:eek: :D !!!
It's a great conversion and I would definitely recommend it! If you have a questions please email me or PM me.

Here are a great set of chairs- and they're going pretty cheap!!!!!

I purchased my seats from these guys a couple months ago on ebay. Really fast shipping, but I live in San Diego, so from GA shipping was $175. So only ended up a pretty good deal, not a great deal. Seats were from a leather/power 97, they were for my 93 cloth/manual. They of course don't clean them, expect them to arrive in "used" condition.

Anyway. I had to wire these myself, but they did just bolt right in. I'm not surprised that you had problems with the connectors from the different years. Ford changes things for unknown reasons. Good luck!!!!

Yeah, the connectors definitely threw a monkey into the situation. I just simply cut the connectors, and standardized them with appropriate ones- works great now!
Don't you love the 2nd gen seats- oh soooo comfy!!!
