Well a little about my Truck. She is green and has no lift right now. Here are a couple pics of her.

What I have done so far is Replaced the Muffler, Added a CB and Painted the Rear Pillars Flat Black. I am planning to do a Solid axle swap up front and possibly getting rid of the leaf springs in the rear. Going all Coil at all four corners. Will see how things come around. Will see as I talk with my Buddy that owns a 4x4 shop here in Colorado Springs.

Going on a pretty fun and scenic trail this Saturday. Can't wait to get out and in the woods for a day.

Colorado has some of the world's most beautiful scenery. I remember the days with the stock Explorer and the Jeepers asking you how you got wherever you are. Answer; I drove here.

Well I have been able to get my hands on a D30 for the front. Now on the hunt to find a newer 8.8 to get Disk Brakes on the rear. Will be looking at possibly the Ranger Rear axles cause from my experience I have seen them already SOA.

Most Ranger 8.8's are 28 spline axle shafts whereas Explorers have the stronger 31 spline. Better to swap brakes since they are a direct bolt on replacement.

Thank you for letting me know. How are the 9inch axles

Well Not much has been done with my EX in a while. This weekend I pulled out the rattle can and started my 2 Tone paint job. Still working with my buddies shop to get the new axles under her. The rear is gonna be an 8.8 from a 2nd gen EX and the front is gonna be a dana 30. Everything has been upgraded in the axles.

Wish I had a dollar for everytime I pull into a meet spot with others for a run and you can see the look on their face says it all. They're thinking "S**T!!! We'll be pulling this guy out of trouble all day." Of course the look turns to total surprise once we get on the trail. You just don't see many Explorers on the trail here in Colorado, in fact, even though I know a couple guys that wheel em out here, and I know there are others on this site, I have yet to go on a run with another Explorer. Closest I have come was a SAS'd Ranger. But I like being the different one and keeping up with all the Jeeps and Toyotas out here.

It's funny to see the look on their faces when you end up pulling their lifted jeep out after going through the same spot in a stock explorer! That's my favorite part of owning an explorer! : )

I have been super happy with my truck. I went on a trail called Shubarth Loop and was only pulled once because I was not getting thru the snow very well. After that I was fine the whole time. It was a snow bashing fun that we had with the club I am in. I was the only stock one and was pulled once. While others that were lifted and big tires several were pulled. I can not complain about my EX accept for being so low.

I've been all over that rampart area, but never on that specific loop. Thats the area where they found the missing boys a couple weeks ago if you heard about that. A group I'm a member of actually found em. If you take HWY 67 North out of Woodland Park there is a ton of trails that go through the Haymen burn area on the South side of the HWY. I've been all over those and you'd have no trouble with em in a stock truck as long as there's no snow due to some steep hills.

BTW, I only have about an inch lift on my 94 sport ATM, you can get pro-comp add a leafs from 4wheel parts for $36. I made 1" coil spacers for the front out of old radius arm bushings and washers and I run 31's right now. Check out the 2 point oh build thread in my signature to see what I mean.

What shop does your buddy own?

It's the sticker on my windshield :-) the shop is RnRoffroad on pikes peak Ave and south academy. Awesome guy. Goes above and beyond for fellow off roaders.

She has my Rims and Tires and I have hers. I like her rims better. I cut a hole for the Center caps to fit over the Lock out hubs. Here is what they look like. I like them
