What is the correct model of tranny for the 92 EX 2WD is the number located on the tail housing ? i did see numbers there and it DIDNT say A4LD the tranny was a junkie replacement by the junkyard. ill post the number later

The A4LD is the only transmission used in the first generation Explorer. I dont think our transmissions have any stampings that actually say "A4LD", "4R55", "5R55", etc... But if its from a 1st generation Explorer, that means it has to be the A4LD (only one engine and one transmission available). There is typically a "badge" on the body, closer to the bellhousing but still on the transmission's body... maybe 3x2" rectangular, but I'm not sure if this badge will have the transmission model.
