92'Tranny shifting problem

I have a 92 xlt 4x4, that has 310k on it. Been a great truck...but,,1st tranny lasted 250k. rebuilt it,,12 mo.warranty..at 13 months started to rev up, and I have to let off gas to get it to go to 2nd.(in morning it will do ok on 1st mile or 2) then as I drive if I go to accelerate it revs up and I have to let off to catch a gear etc... shop said the would look at for 600-800 bucks,,ie..tear it apart(aamco) I have not seen it get worse over the past year, but now seems to shudder at 55-70 mph..when i try to pass etc..almost like a vacumn miss....any ideas I can try ,,, problem with checking modulator etc..is darn muffler beside right side of case... thanks John

I ha d the same problem with the transmission. The one of my valves in the torque converter go cloded and started slip of gears and then lose of reverse, leading into the truck would not move. If I were you i would definetaly check the fluid color, and if it sells burnt.
If it does you have got a problem and they might not be able to rebuild the tranny you going to have to buy a new one. Ihad to buy a new one from ford and it cost 2,700.00 dollars.

So,,thanks,,, they could not flush and change fluid? or just put new torque on?
