Replaced front brake pads since they were getting pretty bad. There was a little bit of a grinding noise coming from what sounded like the drivers side but the old pads weren't down to the metal yet. Swapped out the old ones for a brand new set and the issue is still happening. Is there some compression concern during braking where some worn suspension parts might be rubbing together? No idea how old the shocks are and they could probably use an update. What should I look for to determine where this grinding noise is coming from?

Lift the wheel off the ground and spin it by hand; you may want to remove the wheel and spin the rotor instead. Check for a bearing that needs replacement. Also chcek the caliper slide pins, may want to clean the grooves and pins and grease them as they get rusty and cruddy.

This makes a lot of sense. I'll try it and report back, thanks!
