I have a 94 ranger 4.0lt xlt built from the ground up, everything new. I installed new 2000 ohv cyl heads on my reman 94 shortblock with aported 97 intake. I know the compression level was increased to about 10.1. I'm running 91 octane fuel and I noticed a slight ping at 3500-4500rpm. I modified the maf sample tube to correct the ping but it now runs rich at idle. I'm thinking pegging the maf tapping a hole and using a bolt for adjustment and maybe meeting halfway. Has anyone performed this mod before with any success? the maf and injecters are matched to the pcm. Everything functions properly, no error codes.
