'94 4x4 button on dash does nothing, where to start?

Basically it does nothing, no light by button, no light on dash, no motor noise from underneath. Is it likely the switch or a relay/fuse or the motor? What is most likely and how do I check it? Thanks!

My only question is where is this "geared sensor cover?" Is it on top of the T-case, on the side? Thanks.

The shift motor is bolted to the back of the tcase. Looks like the link is talking about one part of the shift motor. If you think your shift motor is the problem, there is a clickable link on how to repair the shift motor, right below where it mentions the sensor cover.
