Hi there
Everyone here is great so I always come here for info.
1994 Explorer 4x4 manual hubs--when we go to use the 4x4 we lock in the hubs and push the 4x4 button. I have backed up to make sure it has engaged and it does. But while driving it there is this loud grinding sound on the left side. Took it to Ford they said it sounded like a spindle bearing problem but wouldn't know until they tore it down. They say the 4 wheel drive is working. Are they right or could something else cause the problem? How difficult is it to change it myself? We have the special tool to remove the hubs.
