I use a big pair of adjustable channel lock pliers...if i remember correctly i had to pound out the wheel studs, but it worked for me. Just remember to pull out the small locking pin with a magnet.

There is a special socket for the front nut. Have you tried an autoparts sore?

its the ford autohub socket for the bronco II, ranger and explorer

If it helps, I got mine at Napa.

Just did the front breaks in December. Replaced everything: lines, rotors, pads and calipers. Got the socket form the neighbor who works at the local ford dealer:D, cuz i didnt find one in town. It was really nice to have. And DONT FORGET, about that magnetic key in there. Youll be tryin to wrench on it forever:mad: But after that its all good, just make sure you set tighten ur bearings properly. And then its a good time to check ur hubs, my left one is broken, well, there is that metal ring gear/cog/washer deal, yeah anyways, thats like BROKE:fire: into 2 pieces, just put it back in cuz ford wants $300 for ONE NEW hub, yeah, I dont think so!!! Just gotta put Warns($213 for both) on and ill hav'er all set up.

Got my socket from Snap-on's web site, $21.
