I own a 94 4-Dr 4X4, and am intrested in putting some exhuast on it. I can get a custom system made at a local muffler shop, but i was wondring what size pipe would be the best for gaining power, and not loosing torque? Im thinking about getting a flowmaster 50 series muffler, anyone have a flowmaster on their truck, and how does it sound??

I dont want it to be ricey, just nice and deep at idle and a good rumble while accelerating, any recomendations??

I also want to get a single inlet to dual outlet type deal and have two tailpipes leading to tips coming out at a 45 degee angle to the rear tires (behind them), Anyone have a setup like this on their truck?

Thanks.....

Well I do but I think I have the Flowmaster 40. Anyways I would say go with 2.25" pipe. I am not sure if I like how it sounds. I wanted a deeper throatier rumble. My buddy has a Ravin muffler with single outlet and a fairly good sized tip on it and his exhaust roars and rumbles. It does sound a little like it has some reverb, but to each their own.

Also on mine I chose to exit our the rear on either side of my class 3 hitch. I forgot to mention the pipe size to my muffler guy and got 2" but all say that 2.25" is the way to go to keep low end torque and gain some power.

2.25" is the best... but if going duals, 2 maybe better...... the x doesnt produce enough backpressure

if single i went with 2.5 on my flowie 40 and it was wicked..... :)

Really wicked is my 2.25" dual pipes on my 91 Ex going through dual glass packs as mufflers........hehehehe:D

2.5" with duals ...... or single?

Think ill go with the 2.25 inch pipes, and some nice 3 inch stainless tips, i think the 50 series is quiter than the 40 so il go with that....

Its hard to get V6's to sound nice...

thnx

my 40 sounded awesome.. yes the 50 is quieter than the 40.. i wouldnt trade my 40, but if you are concerned about interior noise, then the 50 is better... my 40 is just loud........ but i also dont have windows or anything to keep the sound out and it dumps 18" after the muffler before the axle

this is for something else.. i need the smiley for an im convo

hmm.....mabey ill go with a 40 series, i kinda want a louder muffler but i dont want it to sound trashy cuz its a v-6, hows the idle sound with the 40? did it add any deep tone to it overall?

the 40 is loud, it sounds very good... most people were shocked when i said it was a v6...... it might be too loud for most peoples taste though, just a warning...... the 50 is a good choice....... the 40 is loud, not obnoxious, but loud, deep too.....

I think my buddy has a 4" tip on his exhaust and that may be giving it the reverb. But I can totally say that the rumbling sound coming out of his Ravin is nicer than the flowmaster 40 I have with dual exit.

Do you know what model Ravin muffler he's got?

Ravin 33 series is the loudest, 55 is next loudest, 77 is quiet. I have the 33 on mine and it is loud but sounds pretty cool.
