i have 2 questions.
first my exp has 160000 on it and for some reason i am loseing tranny fluid its not leaking i have check all that but it just seems to burn off i guess and i need to always add it.. it is a 4x4 with man locking hubs. any ideas?

second the vaccume lines keep popping off i have one line with a bolt in it because it popped off and i can not find the other end. i am not good with the vaccume part of it. so i will prob end up sending it in to the shop but any ideas on why it is doing this.
thanks eric

The trans is partially controlled by a vacuum modulator... There is a vacuum line that goes from the side of the trans to the tree on the engine. The modulator has a diaphragm in it, and they tend to rupture and then the engine sucks trans fluid in through the vacuum line. This also tends to make the lines pop off.

There is plenty of info here about replacing the vacuum modulator, its a common problem, try a search... It not a complicated job but it's frustrating cause everything is in the way. Whatever you do, don't loose the pin when you take it off.

It's the vacuum modulator on the transmission. There's a diaphragm inside that if broken will let tranny fluid get sucked into the motor and in turn make the vacuum lines pop off sometimes.

Replace it and your problems should be gone.

Edit: Oops, beat me too it.
