94 explorer, battery not charging

battery checks out good. down to 20%. changed alt. and still not charging the battery and only showing about 8 volts on gauge. what else can i check?

Check Power to the alternator. Yellow wire with Black tracer should have 12volts. Black wire with orange tracer should have 12 volts. check those first If you missing power one of those places then let me know which one.

might also help to take the cables off and use a small wire brush to clean the cable ends and battery posts where they contact. it helped my truck, couldnt get enough juice to it in cold weather to boost it off the other vehicles but after it started right up first try when boosting it.

Check the fuse panel on the passenger side fender well. I found a blown 30 amp fuse that handles the charging voltage. I went through the same problem on my '94
