94 explorer EB question again!

Hi! Everyone! I had posted a few days ago about my new purchase of the explorer and everything seemed fine but then 2 days later.. the thermostat gauge wasnt working at all so the dealer i purchased it from fixed this..it was a switch,so they replaced it.I picked car up today.went to put gas in it,started it up and went to take off and the abs light came on. went right back to the dealer and he had me shut car off and had me pump on gas peddle a few times then had me start it up and the abs light wasnt on anymore! I said it must be quirky then and drove home but i got to thinking that light came on for a reason duh! My son says its the abs computer trying to go out..I did a search here on the boards and got some ideas about this and what to do..But guess its got me puzzled as to why when the dealer had me pump the gas peddle with the car off it is then the abs light went off!! Anyone have ideas as to why this would be! thanks!

Usually when the abs light comes on, it's because the brake res is low, I have a 92, a 94 and a 2000 Ex, both the 92, and the 94 abs light came on because of this, try and fill the brake res with fluid and see if this doesn't fix the problem.

I well check this tomorrow! lol!! Iam still having the new car purchase jitters i guess!! Didnt even occur to me to check this, I assumed since i bought it from a used car lot just this week that they would automatically check something like that! before saleing the car anyway! I had own a cadillac catera last year and that thing was nothing but a nightmare and what caused most of the problems was the computer and abs lights coming on etc! so when i seen the abs light come on today on the explorer i automatically got nervous thinking here we go again!

but what i was wondering if someone could explain to me how it is that when you pump on the gas peddle while car is off that this makes the abs light go off!! This is one of the reasons i joined this forum iam no expert on cars! and this car i want to make sure i keep good maintance on it without getting taken! I thought this was such a bazarr thing to happen today! how is the gas peddle and the brakes and abs light related??? thanx!
