Hello,

I am James Tucker. I have always wanted an offroad
truck, heck, even a 4x4 :P I live in Alaska, so having
a 4x4 for once will be real nice.

Well, recently my poor little '93 Ranger 4x2 started
eating antifreeze and instead of pumping endless
amounts of money into a truck that was only good
to get back and forth to work in, I decided to fix it
up and trade it in. So, thats what I did and now I
have a truck that has a lot more potential.

My new truck is a 1994 Explorer Sport 4x4. Its in great
shape except for the beauty marks I gave it last week
while taking it for a test drive. Nothing that I good
polishing won't take care of though.

Anyways, I am not doing any off-road mods yet. It is
financed and I am going to wait till the end of the 36
month loan before I start modifying it. Though I am
buying the parts now and doing my research. Which
would be the reason I am now on this board :)

I found this site by just searching on Yahoo.com for
information about my truck. I did not know there was
such a following before I got this truck, but I am glad
there is, and I am glad there is a good resource on
the internet to get help at.

I hope to be here for a very long time, asking questions
and contributing as much as I can.

Well I guess I could put up a pic, but the only ones
are the ones after I took it for a small *cough* test
drive...Before I did that to the poor truck on the 2nd
day I had it, it was sparkling clean with only rust on
the nerf bars.

Also, when I took it for that little exploration, I had a
strange problem. Maybe someone can clue me me
since I am new:

I like your running boards:D Glad to have you aboard:D

welcome to the site!!!!! time for a lift and 33s ;)

Welcome aboard!

You're going to wait 36 months and hang around here in the meantime?! I have a feeling the bug will catch you long before those 36 months are up and you'll be adding mods in no time!;) Just kidding. Congrats on the new X and let us know your plans for mods! I'm just interested in seeing if you can hold out for the 36 months!

Happy postin'!:)

I'm just interested in seeing if you can hold out for the 36 months

Maybe we should get some odds going! I bet it cant last!

Lol, well, it helps to have money!

The truck payments are ok, but the insurance is
reeming me bigtime. I cannot do anything until
it goes down. Since the truck is financed, if I do
any mods and it gets taken away, there goes
all that money too :P Which would be massive
suckage. lol (my insurance is $540USD/month...)

After I finish payments on the truck, I will be about
24 and will not have to keep full coverage on the
truck, then I will be able to start pouring all my cash
into mods ;)

I plan an 6-8 inch lift, bigger tires, sweet stereo
system, and a winch so far. What other mods
should I start researching and saving up for?

Hehe, there is a benefit to waiting 36 months,
by then, I could have about $5-8k saved up and
ready to pump into my truck :D What other mods
should I consider (honestly, for offroading and
to make it look cool)?

Well, I gotta run! thanks for the responses!
