94 ford explorer question

so i was installing aftermarket stereo in my ford explorer when i came across wires running up above my radio around my center vents i removed the vent and behind a fake vent there was a wire connector plugged into the back of it i dont think it was there for anything
does anyone know what its there for or what it goes to

...That is probably the wiring for the 4x4 buttons that usually go in the location of that fake vent, on 4wd models...
