Low power. Code 218(No secondary ignition diagnostic monitor). No spark from secondary coil pack. No timing inputs into seconday coil pack. Good +12VDC. Have ok flashing inputs (test Light) to primary coil pack. The resistance between secondary coil pack spark outputs 2 and 3 was lower than the 1&4 side of pack 2 and both sides of primary coil pack (1&4 and 2&3). Replaced both coil packs, didnt help.
No apparent voltage/signal on Ignition Control Module connector 156 pin 6 (Dual plug inhibit) during start or run. Pin 12(IDM) on same connector(also tach service connector) reads about 29.5VAC. There is no more than a .1vac change when revving engine. Using timing light, timing does advance during acceleration.
Timing belt is aligned. Thanks for any help.
Fixed the problem!
Used an ohmeter to measure the resitance of the coil secondaries and compared to other coils on the truck. Found lower resistance on one coil and replaced it. Still had problems so took out the ign. module and took it to O'Riellys who had a tester. It tested bad. Had them test a new one and it tested good. So bought it and installed it making sure that I had the correct heat sink compound and amount of it on the module before installing. The truck ran great and is still running. Thanks
