94 Ranger runs momentarily then dies.

My 3Liter 6 is hard to start, then runs momentarily then dies.

At first it would not fire on cold wet mornings. Cranked just fine but no fire. Ran fine other days.

Now it either won't start, or if it does it runs for maybe 5 seconds then dies.

I've cleaned every connection I can find. Had battery and alternator checked. Tried different coil. Plugs and Wires are relatively new.

Even had it looked at by certified mechanic, $130 down the drain.

Just at a loss for ideas.

you stated you cleaned every connection you could find. i had a similiar problem on my 02 ranger 4.0 . im not sure if that will be any help.

but it wouldnt turn over until i gave it gas, and as soon as i let off the pedal the truck would stall.

i disconnected the battery and let it sit for 10 min to resest the computers memory.
then i cleaned the the following
IAC Valve
IAC oriface in intake.
Throttle body
MAF sensor

reconnected the sensors and battery, truck started right up and ran fine.

if still nothing, i would start looking at the fuel system.

it also sounds like a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump
