I have a 2.3 L ,4 cyl engine. Several months ago it just died while driving but started right back up. A week later it did the same thing. Then it stated dying (as if the key had been turned off) more frequently and took longer and longer before it would start back up. hasn,t started in several weeks now.
Had a code 211 (KOEO) Profile Ignition Pick-up circuit failure.
It doesn,t have a distributer or carburator. Put a new fuel filter in after it first happened. Took the ICM ,ignition controll module, out and had it checked. Checked out fine and I,m gonna go put it back in now. Checked the wires visually-they looked fine. I do have a power steering fluid leak that has made it messy under the pump. Checked the coils with a multimeter and they seem to be OK.
I'm really stumped ! The crankshaft Position Sensor is my next guess but know if it can be or how to check it.
Sorry for the long post. Can anybody Help

Try the little regulator in the back of the alternator?

No, what regulator. The Engine turns over fine. Can I check the regulator if the engine doesn't run?

On the back side of the alternator there's a little removeable module. remember, as long as you have they key turned to start, power is coming straight from the battery. If the alternator puts out too low a voltage, or none, the engine will die after a few rps. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong?

Thanks Exploder Pilot
I'll see if I can do a multimeter test or somthing .

good luck man!
