94 seats same as 95 and up??

I need to replace my 94 Explorer XLT grey non power drivers seat....

I found a 95 POWER grey seat for $100...actually the base of my current seat (the seat part, not the track) is bad...)

Can I take the upholstery from mine and put it on the 95?? Are they the same seats, frame wise? Or different design??

Or, can I get seats from say a 96 or 2000 and bolt them into my 94?? Are the floor pans/mounts thesame???

Yes they will bolt right in.

Cool! Any problems at all to be aware of?? I am thinking of trying to find power seats as a set.......

So, I should be able use any seat from 94 thru 2000??

I put seats from a 2000 ex into my 94 EB a few months ago. Seats went right in, but had a problem with the seat belts. The newer seats used a smaller buckle on the belt than the 94 seat. Was able to swap out the seat belt "buckles" but now the "buckle"itself floats around until the belt is hooked up. Sort of hard to explain, but when you see how the "buckle" gets hooked to the bottom of the seat. Best advice - get the seat belts from the same EX as the seat.

I ended up finding a rolled 94 Explorer (just like mine) that had a near perfect drivers seat (40k miles on it).....for $100. Not bad...not great, but not bad. Only one in the whole yard, out of 10 or so Explorers........

It was pretty dirty, and I steamed it today...I think it is going to match ok.....If not, I will switch my upholstery onto it......

But the seat rides like new so far.........

The only thing I am concerned a little about is that the seat was open to some of the elements for a while and was damp when I got it............not sure if the foam would be affcted by that or not.........

Seems ok so far, after about 75 miles..........
