94 XLT dome light/door pin

Hi all,
I am new to this forum. I got a problem with the dome light....hope you guys can help.
2 months ago the dome light would not come on when the driver door was opened....others worked...about a 1 month ago....another door had the same issue....and now all doors have the issue.
The dome and the little lights on the door would come on when you opened the door and now they don't...I checked the plunger type pins in the door....the driver side has 3 wires coming to it and other doors have 2 wires to the pin.......anyone have this issue...any help would be appricated....Thanks

might be that the contacts need a good cleaning or all of them need to be replaced. The extra wire on the drivers door is for the door ajar and key in the ignition chime.

Can you manually turn the dome light on by turning the headlight switch all the way on?

Yes I can turn on the dome lights with headlight switch by turning it.

When I open pass door, the dome light and door lights in R and L door light up, so I know all the lights work OK.

These lights do not light up with driver door only open.

Is it the plunger switch in the door jamb that is the problem?
