Lift Spindle Install Tutotial

For anyone interested, I've made a little tutorial on the installation of the Explorer ProComp (Bullseye) 3" lifting spindles.

Any feedback on corrections or improvements welcome.

Very cool. Maybe Rick can put this in the tips section. Before that though, I'm gonna move it to the project section cause it's a really good write-up.

how did u doi the rear? what did u have to buy? any pictures? another write up? u know any where in this forum? thanks fo ryour help

Very nice write-up!! And a nice looking truck too!

How well did the SOA match up with the spindle + torsion twist up front? 3" spindles and a 1.5" torsion twist doesn't match up with the "supposed" 5.5" lift that can be achieved with the SOA in the rear, especially with Warrior shackles. Or did you remove the shackles?

If you did, do you want to sell them? :bounce:

thanx for the write up harry my lift will be in in ten days, so i am hoping to put it on in a few weeks

Thanks everyone.

I did a SOA (spring over axle) which means I relocated the the axle from the top of the springs (stock) to under the spring. I had to weld new mounts on the top of the axle and relocate the shocks.

I based my spring over on DannyBoy's post.

With the shackles, the rear is higher than the front. I was planning on putting longer torsion bolts in or removing and spining the torsion bars 1/6 around. If I decide to remove them, you're 1st on the list.

Harry, that's cool. I figured the rear would have to be a little higher, but it doesn't look bad in the pictures at all. I was just curious. ;)

how much higher is it with the warrior shackels at the back? if it is only 1/2 inch different, i would keep it the way that it is. BTW, nice looking truck. one day, mine will look like that. hehehe. u got locker at the back yet?

Here's a picture of the rear setup. Yes, that oil on the diff was from a leaking pinon sear. A tutorial on that is also in the works.

I'm ditching the shock mounting plate and fabricating a new shock/swaybar mount next.

The leaf mounting perches were purchased from Currie Enterprises out of Anaheim, CA for about $16. I also had to buy a new leaf sping centering bolts for about $1.50.

A locker is probably the last, but most needed, thing that I'll get.
